Disc golf competitions happen throughout the year all over the planet, but how do you find a disc golf tournament in your area?

Here you can learn how to discover a huge number of disc golf tournaments and disc golf leagues in cities and towns across the world with both web and app-based tools.

Disc Golf Tournaments: How to Find Them

There are two easy ways to find disc golf tournaments near you or a place you plan to visit: using Disc Golf Places or going to the Events tab in the UDisc app.

Both methods allow you to see disc golf tournaments sanctioned by the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) as well as many disc golf leagues in specific locations around the globe. Below are step-by-step instructions for utilizing each of those tools.

Find Disc Golf Tournaments with Disc Golf Places

You can find disc golf tournaments and leagues in specific towns and cities worldwide with Disc Golf Places. Just follow these steps:

1. Go to Disc Golf Places on the UDisc website.
2. Type in the name of the town or city where you'd like to play a disc golf tournament.
3. Once on the location's page, scroll down until you see "Upcoming events" to the right of a map showing area course locations. You will see disc golf tournaments (labeled as A Tier, B Tier, C Tier) and leagues happening in or near the city in the near future.
4. If you see a disc golf tournament or league you'd like to play, click or tap on it, and you will be able to find information that will help you contact the organizers about how to register for their event.

Find Disc Golf Tournaments with the UDisc App

You can also find disc golf tournaments and leagues with the UDisc app (it keeps your scores and helps you discover new disc golf courses, too).

Here's how to find disc golf competitions with the UDisc app:

1. Open the UDisc app on your phone.
2. Tap Events on the bottom of the screen (you'll see a small calendar icon above it).
3. You will immediately see a list of disc golf tournaments and leagues happening within 100 miles (161 kilometers) of your current location organized by date. You can switch the radius by tapping options near the top of the screen.
4. If you would like to see disc golf tournaments occurring in a specific city or town, tap in the field at the top of the screen that says "Find Event / Location" and then tap the "Location" option that appears. Begin entering the name of the city or town and select it once it appears in the drop-down options. Again, you'll see a list of disc golf tournaments and leagues within the selected radius of the location.
5. Tap on any disc golf tournament or league you're interested in.
6. Scroll down to see more information about the event.

What's the Difference Between a Disc Golf Tournament and a Disc Golf League?

Both disc golf tournaments and leagues (also commonly called weeklies or minis) are competitions where players are typically expected to follow the sport's formal rules. But what are the biggest differences between the two event formats?

Tournaments

• Usually have multiple rounds and sometimes take place over consecutive days
• Almost always have an entry fee
• Tend to be more formal and many players take them more seriously than leagues
• Almost always require advanced registration

Leagues

• Usually just one round per league event (as in one event per week or month)
• Can be completely free or cost an entry fee
• Tend to be less formal than tournaments and players are often more relaxed
• Can require advanced registration, but many leagues also welcome anyone who shows up on time
• Can be a series where league-goers battle for overall points throughout the season
• Can also be a series of one-and-done events run by the same person/people or happen at the same course(s) regularly
• More likely to feature alternative formats like glow disc golf or doubles
